Vision Statement
Prison to Prosperity seeks to inspire and change lives for people who are incarcerated through advocacy, mentoring and policy change. We lay the foundation for people who are incarcerated to overcome hardships, thrive within their communities, and pay it forward. We are redefining the norm for people with criminal convictions, reduce recidivism, and offer hope for a bright and prosperous future.
Summary
We are a group of people partly comprised of people that are currently or formerly incarcerated paving the way for other people impacted by the criminal legal system to transition to a productive and prosperous future. We are establishing mentors for each person to design individualized pathways to navigate through the aftermath of incarceration and conviction. These bonds are maintained throughout their incarceration for as long as the need is still apparent after rejoining the community.
We advocate for our people while they are incarcerated to make sure they are not being denied education, jobs and programs provided by the departments of corrections in their state. We provide highly qualified medical personnel to review medical records and assess medical situations to ensure the quality care is being provided to each person. We advocate for proper care and attention to those that may not be getting diagnosed or treated properly in a timely manner.
We are the extra force of encouragement and hope to people and their families that have been overwhelmed by the incarceration of their loved one(s). We are a team of exceptional people that are putting prisons out of business one person at a time.
