Advocacy takes bravery to take risks doing something we have never done before by offering grace to people we see as human beings and others see them as unworthy beings.<br>Offering fairness, compassion, and hope to people so they can come out better on the other side from a system that is designed to break them, devastate their souls, and deny them basic human decency becomes tricky, keeping that same system from doing the same to us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>People locked away in the prison system have very few opportunities for fairness, compassion, or hope.
